Two weeks ago I lost my darling Roxie kitty to a truck on the highway after she was chased by a dog.  On Wed of the same week, my nosey male cat got hold of a “silica” packet like comes in shoe boxes and such and by Friday, we lost him to kidney failure…please, please make sure you throw those things away as they cause a horrible, painful death!!!

My other cats are still in mourning and one has just now come off her hunger strike as she misses her sister Roxie soooo much!  Time goes on, and we seem to be healing but it’s still tough when I remember that they’re no longer with us.

On another note, those of you that know me, are aware that I’ve been single for awhile now and had every intention of staying that way…but a few weeks ago I met a wonderful, sweet man who has managed to make me change my mind about being “alone” and he’s got a son about the same age as Colton, my son.  They get along famously…I’m sure excited to see where this leads! 

As for my soap business, Fireside Soap Works of Montana, I’ve been gaining business and just this week worked out a contract with a local business (spa) to supply them with soap for their shop and the lodges and such that they do business with.  Unfortunately, it’s still not enough to keep us afloat, so it’s looking like I’ll be going back to work in the insurance industry for awhile…ugh!   I’m still going to keep plugging along at the soap business as I believe it has excellent potential, but for now, it’s back to the corporate world for me

I’m also working on getting more quilted items made up to list in my etsy shop as I enjoy making them and sharing with others…selling my quilted creations will enable me to further my fabric addiction.

I woke early, so have been relaxing with my cup of coffee, a kitty on my lap and watching the sun come up…with all the frost that abounds this morning, it’s quite a sight.

As I’ve been making soap non-stop for what seems like forever, I’ve decided that today is the perfect opportunity to work on some quilting projects. I need to finish the binding on an Autumn quilt, then I’m going to work on some forest themed potholder/oven mitt sets to post to etsy I’ve also got all the pieces cut out for a quilted Christmas tree skirt and will post pictures and get it listed on etsy, too. Son and I haven’t been feeling great the past couple days so I’m not real energetic…this day will find my sewing machine whirring along and some classical music playing in the background to sooth my cranky soul…LOL

I’m making Spicy Apples and Peaches, Autumn Lodge and Fresh Rose Garden soaps today and have to get a move on with my packaging as I need to get a couple orders out to the Bed & Breaky’s here in town that are gearing up for the ski/tourist season…oh goody, here they come to fill up our little town with their big town ideas and drunken scenes downtown…but boy do they spend MONEY…woohoo! “getting off my soap box, now”

Son is almost done with his schoolwork for today and has actually volunteered to do soap packaging duty today…wonder what he wants…heehee (he’s actually a very helpful little man cub most of the time, unless Grandpa sends him a new computer game…then he has a one track mind)

My poor living room looks like a thrift store exploded as I’ve been doing laundry all week, but it only seems to make it to the loveseat and no further…so I’m getting daughter to fold and put away all that after she gets off work later…in exchange for her wanting MORE soap for she and her friends…must be some REALLY CLEAN girls LOL

I’ve also found & a group called Designing Swanky Moms, a terrific bunch of super creative ladies dedicated to helping and promoting each other in their crafting businesses…and just generally supporting each other on a daily basis…I’ve never met so many wonderful folks in one place before!
